A small amount of Botox for hyperhidrosis will be precisely injected with a very fine needle into the affected area. You may experience temporary localized tenderness and/or bruising where you receive the injection. Botox does not cause numbness in the treatment area.

You will feel the benefits of the Botox therapeutic treatment usually within a few days to one week. Treatments will typically last seven to nine months and many patients will see results beyond a full year.

There are few if any side effects to Botox for hyperhidrosis. Patients having their hands treated may notice a small amount of grip strength weakness but this is not normally a large problem for most patients. The treatments do not cause additional sweating at other body sites, and allow untreated areas to sweat normally. For more information, see www.sweatless.ca
