Thermage is a nonsurgical alternative to a facelift involving no downtime and no injections.

Thermage can be used on the entire face, or to target specific areas requiring skin tightening. For example, the eye procedure helps smooth and tighten the skin to decrease hooding and eye wrinkles. The lip procedure assists in smoothing and defining the area around the lips.

Unlike laser skin tightening technology, the Thermage procedure works on all skin types and colours, and there is no need to avoid the sun after treatment.

As you age, the collagen in your skin breaks down resulting in wrinkles and sagging skin. Thermage uses patented radiofrequency technology to safely heat the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating existing collagen enhance facial contours and tighten skin.

The results of a Thermage treatment are progressive, meaning some results are seen immediately but will continue to improve due to the collagen growth process for up to six months after treatment.

A topical anesthetic and light sedative will be used for the hour-long Thermage procedure. If you are administered the sedative (not everyone needs it), we will ask that you do not drive to and from the appointment.

After treatment, most patients experience mild redness and perhaps some swelling but can return to normal activities quite soon afterwards. In the first month following the Thermage procedure, there is tightening of the collagen fibres and supporting tissue of the skin, which will result in noticeably improved tightening of the treated area. Months two to six will show new collagen synthesis and improvement in the structure of the skin’s supporting tissue. During this time, improvements in texture, tone, and contour will be noted.
